Funny Books for 2011

I thought I'd put together a display of books for a bit of a laugh.  Our library will be open for classes on Monday.  What funny books have you read?

Yay! The Library is now back in Action!

It's so exciting to have the library back after six months!  We have a new shelving unit arriving soon to house our new Māori section, Kōrero paki/Kaupapa Māori.  

Thanks to the support of Team Freeville we were able to buy another wooden caterpillar, so our Junior non-fiction area, take motuhake tamariki, will no longer be jammed packed with books.  We were also able to buy lots of new books.  Look out for them in the library!

The Megamogs, By Peter Haswell

Last week I read 'The Megamogs,' to the children in Room 8.  Kevin Katflap and his 'it's going to be BIG,' always draws the children in.  The children love the names like, Fishpaste Fred and Barry Binliner.  My copy is about 14 years old and it looks like it's now out of print. This book inspired Room 8 to create their own Megamogs, like Ginger Ninja and Silly Sally.  They then wrote a descriptions about their mogs.  Click here to view close up pics of their moggies and read their descriptions.
